CannaGamers: Why More Than Half of Cannabis Consumers Vape While Gaming

Loot Bar Team · September 12, 2026

If you vape before or during a gaming session, you're not the exception — you're the majority. Industry research from Brightfield Group has tracked this pairing for years, and the numbers say something the cannabis industry has been slow to act on: gaming and cannabis use overlap enormously, and almost nobody is building products for it.

54%+of U.S. cannabis consumers use cannabis before or during gaming
86%increase in that pairing from early 2020 to early 2021
<1%of the cannabis vape market is positioned around gaming

The Occasion Nobody's Building For

That last number is the interesting one. More than half of cannabis consumers already pair the two, and that behavior nearly doubled between early 2020 and early 2021 as more people spent time at home. But brands positioning their products around the occasion — describing a vape as good for a gaming session the way some cartridges get described as good for "beach time" — make up a sliver of the market. The behavior is mainstream. The marketing hasn't caught up.

Loot Bar Was Built With This in Mind

It's not a coincidence that Loot Bar reads like a game menu — five extraction types, three hardware formats, described like loadouts instead of SKUs. This brand exists at the intersection on purpose. The question isn't whether cannabis and gaming go together. It's which Loot Bar line actually fits which kind of session.

Matching the Line to the Session

The Hardware Question

Session length also decides the device. A quick session between matches doesn't need much — the 1G all-in-one is breath-activated and ready in seconds. A full night in, though, is where the 2G all-in-one earns its keep, holding double the extract of the 1G so you're not swapping devices mid-session.
